Marin Family CARE Collective

About the Collective

The Marin Family CARE (Creating Access to Resilient and Equitable Beginnings) Collective is a countywide partnership dedicated to improving behavioral health support for birthing people, young children, and families in Marin County.

Launched in 2025 with support from a three-year $3 million grant from the California Commission for Behavioral Health, the Collective brings together five core partners:

Together, we are building a more connected and equitable system of care — one where every family can access the behavioral health and family support services they need, when and where they need them.

Vision

Every child and family in Marin County is valued, connected, and supported from the start so they can thrive and reach their fullest potential.

Mission

To support the behavioral health needs of birthing people, children ages 0–5, and their families through accessible, coordinated, and equitable care.

For Families

At the heart of this initiative is our Growing Up Together: A Community for Families Raising Young Children program. Growing Up Together Communities are weekly peer groups that meet over 12 weeks and connect families with children of similar due dates or birth dates. Communities are designed primarily for families with children from pregnancy through 36 months of age.

Each Growing Up Together Community provides:

  • A supportive space for parents and primary caregivers to connect, share experiences, and learn together while helping their child grow and develop.
  • Access to behavioral health and social services through our core partners, including playgroups, lactation support, newborn care workshops, parenting skills, potty training classes, and other everyday resources families need when welcoming a new child.
  • Personal introductions to trusted community programs and providers, and follow-up support to ensure families get the help they need.

Depending on where families live in Marin County, Growing Up Together Communities are hosted at Parent Services Project, North Marin Community Services, or Postpartum Support Center. Every participant benefits from the combined expertise and wraparound supports offered by all five partner agencies.

The Collective also offers referrals and case management for pregnant or expecting families who want help finding resources to give their child a strong, healthy start. Case management is led by the Postpartum Support Center and is offered to families regardless of participation in the Growing Up Together Communities.
